Why the sailor?

He is the traveler, the solitary, the charismatic,
the strong, the adventurer, the mysterious.

But he is also the sensitive, the poet, the lover,
the broken heart, the uncomfortable in society.

This sculpted body bears witness to his perpetual struggle,
his courage, his experience, his experience in a warlike world.

His whitened beard conveys his wisdom, his retreat,
his understanding of the true things of life,
his insurrection against a slavery system,
his self-denial, his emancipation.

He is the captain of his own ship,
the spirit of the sea and the vast world, the benevolent.

Sleep on your both ears, the old boatman keeps his eye fixed
on the horizon and the good one!
