March 17, 2020,
while millions of people begin in France a first lockdown which will last approximately two months, museums, cinemas, concert halls and theaters close their doors, without a date of resumption of activities can be considered.
Over the days and weeks following, while bulletins epidemiological and Macron's speeches punctuate the life of an entire nation,
bandwidth consumption explode.

Blocked at home, in town and in the countryside, the French live through screens. Work, passions, family, friends: overnight and without being prepared for it,
MILLIONS OF PEOPLE SEE THEIR SMARTPHONES, TABLETS AND COMPUTERS BECOME THEIR MAIN WINDOW TO THE WORLD.
Artists for whom the street is not only a source of inspiration but also a workshop and a place to exhibit their art, are particularly affected.

But all of them could not resist the lure of the street,
Stesi - vandal graffiti artist - paints tirelessly in the street almost as if nothing had happened...
his calligraphy and abstract compositions continue to flourish on the walls and trucks, the artist's favored moving mediums.

For an artist accustomed to sharing directly with his audience, this new distance is not easy to accept.
How then to transmit this atmosphere, materialize this time of creation and life of these ephemeral works, which the spectators discovered until now by themselves?

This is how the idea for the CINESTESI exhibition was born.

The ultimate way to transcribe the path of STESI and short-circuit the barriers imposed by the lockdown.
One does not paint in the street as in the studio; conditions, authorizations, spray paint, climate, light... are deeply inscribed in the artist's work.

June 10, 2021,
CINESTESI reveals another perception of graffiti.
It is a synaesthesia that appeals to several senses, through an installation made up of paintings painted by STESI during confinement, graffitied street furniture, televisions and a projection of films shot at different times, which show STESI so much work than his works painted in the street, mainly during the day.

The television screens placed in the heart of this 200m2 space invite the viewer to live an extraordinary experience:
stare at a red dot, let yourself be guided by optical illusions and observe the artist's paintings set in motion.

The imperfect surfaces that the city offers to the artists, the neighbors and the passers-by who intervene while the spray of paint comes out of the aerosol can, without even taking into account the climatic or light conditions with which the artists are confronted: we too often forget that these elements are inscribed in the depths of an artist's work, in the same way as his style and his talent.

In line with the Futurists and their kinetic vision of an art
that translates the energy of the modern city,

CINESTESI CALLS ON VIEWERS
TO PERCEIVE MOVEMENT IN PAINTING

But this project also activates their hearing, both spiritually and physically.
As the spectator goes through the exhibition, in fact, he will see the name STESI chained to infinity on canvases to compose a litany similar to those whispered in a low voice by the whirling dervishes in a trance.
Just as it invites us to imagine the body of the artist at work and his gestures which materialize sequences of letters and arabesques.

These repetitive lockdowns will have shown us the limits of an ultra-connected world which deprives the human being of communicating these feelings, these gestures and these thoughts - or to better said this CINESTESI - that
THE STREET HOSTS AND TRANSMITS AT A SPEED THAT NO SERVER CAN EVER TOUCH.
